Welcome to the Real Scale Index

This site is dedicated to serve as a reference for serious musicians around the world. Currently, Scale Index is getting acclimated to a new content management system. This means that the site may seem incomplete but I assure you this project will be running full steam in short time. If you have any questions or concerns about this site please feel free to contact me.

The Twelve “Half Step” Program

Each scale is setup in a table and transposed in the various keys. The beginning note of each row indicates the name of the scale, e.g., C Major Scale or F# Half Diminished Scale. Each column is one of the twelve half steps raised to the beginning note’s perfect octave from left to right. Sorry, no tablature.

Scale Chord Analysis

Each scale’s chord analysis is based on which common chords can be built from the scale’s unique notes. Some chords are more practical than others, but nevertheless they are provided.
